Tashkent Park at dusk
Public Spaces

I snapped this photo of Tashkent Park on Boylston Ave E. between E. Mercer and E. Republican just before the sun set last night.

The cast iron statue of a child blowing a horn while perched atop fanciful birds takes on a mournful quality against the ash gray sky and bare trees in the distance.

The little-known park offers an escape to delightfully stomping children and dealers slyly selling their wares.

Tashkent Park, developed in 1970, gets its name from Seattle's city sister city in Ubekistan.
