Celebrate your new park! | Community Spirit

Construction on the new Capitol Hill Park is set to begin soon, but to celebrate the community is invited to the park site on Oct. 3 for a Groundbreaking Ceremony and Poetry Reading.

Nieghbors are asked to come to 16th and Howell from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 3. Bring a 3 x 5 card with your favoirte word or line from a poem or play to add to the community poetry tree.

A design for the park is pictured above. The current design includes a garden walk, steps on the edges of the park, a plaza with benches, pedestrian lighting and an artistic group of seven boulders, for creative play and seating.

The project is expected to be complete by the end of this year.
