Apocalypse (almost) now | Business

For the past several years, City Market on Bellevue Ave E and E Olive Way has displayed an ever-changing display of hand-illustrated and comical sidewalk reader boards, like this one, that playfully hawk the store's wares while incorporating everything from political scandals to upcoming holidays to the end of the world itself.

I popped inside this evening to ask how the long-running tradition began and two employees told me one of their co-workers, Cain, has worked there ten years and that the signs are his brainchild.

Cain wasn't in tonight but I asked the staff to thank him for punctuating everyone's ferretting about with much needed laughter.
